The Team Behind the Magic of Movement
Eli
I entered the world of tango relatively young, and I can confidently say that tango has significantly contributed to my personal development. It has been a companion in my journey to overcome my fears, a reliable ally in challenging moments, and a catalyst for continuous personal growth. Tango is more than just movement and music; it is an extraordinary teacher that instills confidence, resilience, and a spirit of exploration within me. It provides opportunities to face challenges, shaping character forged in the fire of tango music. This dance has connected me with an incredible community. It introduced me to unique individuals and formed bonds that extend far beyond the dance floor. It took me out of my home and led me on adventures—from local gatherings to international festivals, opening doors to experiences that have enriched my life in countless ways. I am grateful to Bulgarian tango for its significant role in my personal growth, and I am truly excited to contribute to its ongoing expansion and refinement. Being part of its development is not only a passion but a fulfilling endeavor that aligns with my path and aspirations.
Ivo
I have often been asked, “Ivo, what does tango give you?” And my answer is always the same—everything! When I opened the door to tango, I had no idea that it would unfold a new world before me, one that provides exactly what I need. To help you understand what I’m trying to say, I’ll give you a brief overview: New acquaintances—every week; Friends—a lot; Emotions—of all kinds and in abundance; Travel—plenty; Self-expression and creativity—the possibilities are limitless; Love—there’s always room for more; Parties and sleepless nights—they keep increasing; Drinking—I’d rather not even talk about it; Wearing my prom suit again—it happened a few times; For me, this is not just a dance but an endless journey that has seamlessly transformed from a hobby into a way of life. The opening of "Society dance & event hub" marked a new chapter in Bulgarian tango. For me, this is not just a venue, but a place filled with love and dedication. It’s the place where I will pass on the knowledge I’ve gained so far and will continue to gain in the years to come. And all of this in the company of wonderful friends and incredible dancers. What more could one ask for? And by the way, I’m a Cancer!
Maria
My whole life is dedicated to the art of dance. I have tried and danced various styles, but for me, Argentine tango is pure magic. It’s not something you choose; rather, it’s something that finds you. It discovers you, wraps you in a gentle embrace, and guides you through life with whirlwind passion, never letting go. Tango is not just a dance to me. It is another dimension—a parallel universe drifting in cosmic space. This dance possesses exceptional depth and philosophy, immersing you in the essence of life. It is a story of balance between the masculine and feminine, of passion, closeness, warmth, with a touch of drama and endless love. Every movement in this dance tells a story that unfolds before us as a wondrous, magical journey to the soul. If there is a next life, I would choose to immerse myself in this magic again!
Alex
It all started with the idea of opening a dance studio and supporting the development of tango in Bulgaria. Over time, it grew into something more as an idea and a project—a place where everyone can find themselves and feel special. For me, 'Society Dance & Event Hub' is not just a dance and event venue; it is a place that reminds us that 'Society' is much more than us as individuals. First and foremost, we must be human to succeed together. I would describe myself as an ambitious and cheerful person, always seeking truth in life.
Krisi
Kristina Aleksieva has been in love with music since childhood, spending her early years in singing lessons and various stage and school performances. However, in high school, she accidentally discovered Latin dance lessons and realized that this was her true calling. What started as just a hobby quickly turned into a professional pursuit. She spent almost every evening in the dance studio, and after several years of intensive training, she had the opportunity to become an instructor in salsa, bachata, and kizomba. Latin rhythms have been a part of her life for almost 15 years. She has taught at some of the largest dance schools in Bulgaria, training both complete beginners and dancers who perform at major dance festivals. She also prepares choreography teams that perform at international events and participates in various television formats. Kristina is the founder of Picante - Dance and Events.
Yami SO
A Frenchman from Guadeloupe, born and raised in Paris, Yami's dance journey began in July 2007, after taking his first steps in salsa and bachata, and later that same year, in kizomba. Since then, he hasn't stopped growing and quickly began teaching at schools, parties, and festivals worldwide. Internationally popular, Yami is known and recognized for his pedagogy, creativity, technique, and passion for dance and teaching. He is an instructor of kizomba (all styles), Dominican bachata, fusion style, and Afro-house. (He was the first French teacher to introduce Kizomba in the United States). The quality and diversity of his courses make him one of the most sought-after dancers and instructors around the world. Yami is a self-taught dancer who draws his influence from urban and Afro-Caribbean culture. He is the founder of the "SO DANCER crew" (a dance team where new talents and a generation of DJs, dancers, teachers, and performers develop with Yami’s mentality and support), and the creator and owner of the brand "I’M A DANCER" clothing for dancers. Regarding teaching, Yami says: "I love telling stories in my lessons, connecting emotions, creating steps, and sharing this as sources of inspiration worldwide and on social networks." He choreographed and danced for the "Stars" of the Afro-Latino world, such as Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Jennifer Dias ("LOVE U"), and the "King of Bachata" Romeo Santos… On the most beautiful stages of Paris (Dock Pullman, Zenith…). He developed his unique style of kizomba fusion under the name "Fusionkizz," which is the perfect combination of all his dance knowledge and his boundless creativity, and it has become one of the main styles in the kizomba world today.
